and i’m okay with that. the weather has turned to rainy drizzle and i’ve been busy with other creative pursuits. saw a picture of a puking pumpkin online and had to recreate it for my front steps.
i was going to use two of the pumpkins that i grew for jack-o-lanterns, but then i realized that i had primo organic pumpkin flesh ripening on my counter and that it would make much more sense to eat it and buy other (cheap!) pumpkins for carving. so i did.
one of the advantages to having little to no sense of direction is that i often discover things by accident. like this past summer, i got lost in richmond and found a lovely farmer’s market with a schwack of beautiful veggies and fruits. no idea where it was or how to find it again.
right before halloween, i was driving around looking for something else entirely, got lost – and found the same farmer’s market again! Huge pumpkins. Gorgeous cabbages. Sweet corn. Lovely flowers.
halloween was fun. after raining all day, the drizzle finally stopped in time for the trick-or-treaters to hit the streets. We had our usual 140+ kids stop by. Hauled the munchkins up and down steps and around the hood.
