OMG!!! I LOVE YOUR herb garden!!! those pictures were def exciting...Are you all organic? if not which synthetics do you use? regardless, the green walls and that garden list of all the edibles (yum yum) you grew is just amazing. one day, i have a dream, that i will be able to get the right knack for gardening. so far, i have luck with small herbs, cilantro, mint, chamomile and the like because its not hard to plan for them and they pretty much grow themselves.

being the southern hemisphere tho i have noticed that tomatoes pretty much grow more than anything else i have planted. slugs seem to get the best of the rest and dreaded leaf miner has taken over a lot of my leafy greens :-(

it was my first time trying sage and even that is getting eaten by some type of nibbler (seems like a beetle, rather than a slug, but could be both)...well, just wanted to tell you, i stopped in to see the chamomile article and found the rest breath-taking...::sigh::
congrats on a beautiful harvest!

looks great! love the tri-colored door! We pinked the room my 4-yr and 7-yr old girls share earlier this fall. It's amazing the weird glow you see from the outside at night! nice job!

I cannot even imagine what would be involved in moving a house to a new site! And what a great example of reusing/recycling (at a great price!). Good for you.

yes, in 1985, our house was to be sold at auction and moved or demolished. My husband put in a bid for $2000. Two weeks later we had a house to move. So we had to scramble to get the foundation, electrical and plumbing done at our lot site. Then he went off to work on the Tug boat for 2 weeks. I wasn't paying attention to all the details....our foundation was poured slightly off where it needed to be. We had to get re-0ked by town planners that we wouldn't have to rip out foundation and start over. One side of our house sits about 8 feet from the house next door. It is odd, but we and neighbor just wave as we go in and out. Kind of looks like the row houses in old urban neighborhoods. It made for lots of room on the other side of house...
So, we've ripped out and added a couple of times but never touched the upstairs. This will be huge.....but not quite as huge as your project.
Thanks for all the details you show. Keeps me thinking.

ofb: well - sort of, but that's okay since there isn't much of one anyways. And you would still get the silhouette of the tree outside coming through.
georgia: thanks! did you say you bought a house and moved it to your lot? wow.

Man.. it's all about the walls that have plants that have fully grown in. The ones where you can see the panel outlines just don't work. The ones where the walls are full of grown plants look amazing!
